Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi (JNU) came into force in 1969, three years after its establishment by Parliament.
JNU was ranked number 1 university in India by the National Association and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
JNU was ranked number 3 in all India by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2017.

JNU Received the Best University Award by the President of India in 2017.

Admission forms for JNU entrance exam will be available online. The students can fill the JNU Entrance Exam (JUNEE) on the website jnuexams.nta.nic.in

A candidate can opt for three programs of study of the same level in the application form.

Registration and Application Process


  • Fill in the basic information about the candidate
  • Candidate name/ mother’s name/ father’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Mobile number and E-mail
  • The candidate should note down the application number generated by the system. A student can fill only one form with a single number and E-mail. A new mobile number and e-mail address is required for filling new forms.

Uploading Photograph & Signature

  • The candidate must upload recently clicked and scanned passport size photograph of candidate without spectacles of size in between 10 to 200 Kb.

The candidate must submit the entrance examination fee through the online portal provided by the university using his/her credit card/ debit card/ net banking/ UPI.

Viva Voice

Viva voice examination is only held for admission into M.Phil., Ph.D. programs.
The candidate belonging to the general/ EWS category must score more than 50% marks and the candidate belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD/ OBC must score more than 45% marks for qualifying in the computer-based test. Only those candidates who qualify CBT are called for the Viva-Voice examination.
