Indian Navy Officer Entry

What is officer Entry in Indian Navy: The Indian Navy hires the candidates as Officer in Various Branches. here the little information of its Responsibility, training, and Eligibility as below-

(A). Executive (General Service)

  • As an Executive Officer, you will be an important part of the complex system that manages the ship and also uses the ship as an instrument of warfare.
  • You will learn to have a good understanding of the ship’s capabilities and you will be able to command the warship.
  • The Executive officers get opportunities to participate in all facets of naval operations on a warship. They are trained in specializations such as Anti-Submarine Warfare, Navigation, Communications, Gunnery, and Diving.
  • With consistent performance, one could become a Commanding Officer of an Aircraft Carrier, Destroyer, Guided Missile Frigate, and Conventional/Nuclear Submarine.

Eligibility: Minimum Qualification is needed for Executive General Duty Commanding Officer is a Graduate in Engineering (B.tech/BE).

Training: Candidates selected will undergo 44 weeks Naval Orientation Course at the Naval Academy

(B). Executive (Hydro)

The Hydrographic Officer is having one of the sophisticated tasks of Survey conduct under the water of the Sea. The Hydro-graphic Officers also involved in producing navigation charts that are of international standards and are used by mariners across the world. He can be appointed Under the Indian Sea region or Foreign.

Eligibility: Minimum Qualification is needed for Executive General Duty Commanding Officer is Graduate in Engineering (B.tech/BE).

Training: Candidates selected will undergo 44 weeks Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy.

(C). Executive (Pilot)

In the Indian Navy Male and Female, both can apply for the Pilot branch, Officers will be appointed at Naval flying Base and an Aircraft carrier. They can take a flight of fighter jet, and Helicopter near the sea region of over the sea Pilot.

Eligibility: Minimum Qualification is needed for Pilot Officer is Graduate in Engineering (B.tech/BE), along with a valid and current CPL issued by DGCA (Optional).

Training: Candidates will undergo 22 weeks of Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala (Kerala), followed by Stage I and Stage II flying training at the Air Force Academy/Naval Establishment /Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udaan Academy (IGRUA). On successful completion of training, the candidates will be awarded the coveted ‘Wings’.

(D): Executive (Observer)

An Observer is an Officer who deals with Sonar, Radar, Sonic, and communication equipment. It helps to fix the wings of Aircraft by flying a Helicopter, so you can say an Observer is an Air born Technician.

Eligibility: Minimum Qualification is needed for Observer Officer is Graduate in Engineering (B.tech/BE).

Training: Observer candidates will undergo 22 weeks of Naval Orientation course at the INA, Ezhimala, followed by training at Observer School. On successful completion of training at Observer School, the candidates will be awarded the prestigious “Observer Wings”.

(E). Executive (Logistic)

Officer responsible for management of the Goods, supply of Essential Naval Products, manages the Store. It is a civil work and infrastructure based position in the Navy.

Eligibility: Male and female both Candidate of B.tech/BE, B.Com, B.Sc., MCA, M.Sc. MBA, first class can apply.

Training: Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishment /Units/Ships.

(F). Executive (NAI)

Naval Armament Inspection (NAI) Officers are the specialist officers responsible for Inspection & Quality Assurance (QA), in-house R&D, and life extension and life assessment to ensure safety.

Eligibility: Only male candidates having 60% in B.tech/ BE degree in Mechanical, Civil, Naval Architecture, Aeronautics, and Metallurgy can apply.

Training: Candidates selected will undergo 44 weeks Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishment /Units/Ships

(G). Executive (IT)

Only male candidates can apply as Information Technology officer. He has Responsibility of Networking and Software, development, Management, Administration, Develop Cyber Security Product and its Management and Administration.

Eligibility: Male candidate can apply who having at least 60% in B.tech (CS, IT), M.tech (CS), M.Sc. (Computer) and MCA.

Training: Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Indian naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishment /Units/Ships.

(H). Executive (ATC)

Both male and female candidates can apply for Air traffic control Officer, Responsibility of ATC is to help the Aircraft to coordinate with Aircraft carrier. It is a ground duty that may be on an Aircraft carrier, Warship, and Naval Base.

Eligibility: Candidate having B.tech/BE degree in any stream can apply.

Training: Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Indian naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishment /Units/Ships.

(I). Executive (LAW)

Judge Advocate General (JAG) is a position in Armed Forces, responsible to Manage and Control the LAW of Armed forces. Same as JAG in the navy appears the Court Martial as the trail.

Eligibility: Both male and female Candidates should possess degree in Law qualifying them for enrolment as Advocates can apply.

Training: Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishment /Units/Ships.

(J). Executive (Sports)

 As a Sports Officer, you will be responsible for Physical training, Sports Coaching, to the Naval candidates, and Officers.

Eligibility: Regular Post Graduate Degree OR BE/B Tech degree in any field. Candidates with diploma in Sports Coaching from the National Institute of Sports and MSc in Sports (Coaching) will be given priority for shortlisting. A candidate should have participated in Sr. level national championships/games in following disciplines Athletics / Cross-Country / Triathlon / Badminton / Tennis / Squash / Football /Handball / Hockey / Basketball / Volleyball / Cricket / Swimming / Diving / Water Polo / Kabaddi / Boxing can also apply.

Training: Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Indian naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishment /Units/Ships.

(K). Executive (Musician)

The Indian Navy band is one of the best bands in Asia. Naval Musician officers play the band on the ceremony and Symphony band in the Concert in India. The Naval Musicians, known as unofficial ambassadors of the country.

Eligibility: Candidates having Bachelor degree in Any Discipline can apply who know at least one Military band. Or having one of the following Diplomas or equivalent: LRAM/ARCM/ATCL/

(L). Engineer (General Service):-

As an Engineer your responsibility is to Maintain, Repair, and Operate the Engine of Ships, Aircraft, Gunnery, Submarine, and the opportunity to learn Marine Technology.

Eligibility: Candidate, who having at least 60% in B.tech and BE in (Marine), Mechanical, Aeronautical, etc. can apply.

Training: Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishment /Units/Ships.

(M). Engineer (Submarine)

As a Submarine Engineer your responsibility is to Operate, Maintenance, and Run the Modern Submarine and its Warfare Weapons. Candidates selected for Submarine specialization will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant

Eligibility: Candidates having at least 55% marks in B.tech/BE in –

  • Mechanical/Marine/Automotive/Mecatronics/Industrial&Production
  • Metallurgy/Aeronautical/Aerospace/BSMarine.Engg/Instrumentation
  • /Instrumentationandcontrol/Automation& Robotics/Industrial Engg. And Management and Production Engg can apply.

Training: 22 weeks naval orientation course at the Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training in other Naval Training Establishments/ships. On completion of training the candidates will have to pass Submarine Qualifying Board.

(N). Engineer (Naval Architecture)

An Naval Architect officer having the responsibility to design the Ship, Warships, Submarine, Warship Weapons, And Architecture of the Naval essential Body.

Eligibility: Candidate, who having at least 60% in B.tech and BE in (Marine), Mechanical, Aeronautical, etc. can apply.

Training: Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Indian naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishment /Units/Ships.

(O). Electrical (General Service)

Electrical Officer has Responsibility of Maintain, Repair, and Operate the Electrical Instruments, Power house, in the Ships, Warship, Submarine, Aircraft, and Naval base.

Eligibility: Candidate, who having at least 60% in B.tech and BE in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, etc. can apply.

Training: Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishment /Units/Ships.

(P). Education Officer

An Education Officer has responsibility of Educate and Train the Navy Personnel. Candidates are inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation 

Eligibility: Candidates having at least 60% in B.tech/BE, M.tech/M.Sc. in (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Geo Science/Informatics, Marine Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Production Engineering, Control Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering.) and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer etc.. Respective discipline can apply.

Training: training at various Naval Training Establishment/Units/Ships (Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, followed by professional).

(Q). Medical Officer

As a doctor in the Navy you will have an opportunity to learn and practice military medicine and look after the health of the men in uniform and their families both during peace and war. Most of the post-graduate courses are conducted at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune and various other teaching hospitals of the Armed Forces. The Service also offers opportunities to avail study leave at Government expense for super-specialist courses at reputed civilian institutions in India and abroad. There is a wide range of qualification but must have MBBS in any Discipline.

What is the Eligibility for Indian Navy: Eligibility as below-

BRANCHAGEEDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Permanent Commission45 years1. Applicants must possess a medical qualification of an Indian University or a foreign medical qualification recognized by the Medical Council of India. They must also be registered with any of the state councils or equivalent registering authority.
2. Incentives An antedate of 3 years seniority for post-graduates and 2 years for post-graduate diploma recognized by MCI and 6 months for a house job, done at a recognized hospital to fresh entrants.
3. A doctor who has done a house job and also a post-graduate qualification will be eligible for a maximum antedate seniority of 42 months.    
AFMS Cadet (MBBS) after AMC17 to 22 year   24 Year1. 10+2 with PCB securing not less than 60% of aggregate marks together and not less than 50% in any of these subjects.
2. B.Sc. Selection is held once a year through a written exam on an all India basis followed by an Interview at Pune. Advertisement published in the National / Regional newspaper in Jan every year.  
Army Dental Corp (PC)28 year (BDS)   30 year (MDS)1. BDS with minimum 60% marks in final year/ MDS from a recognized Dental College of University.
2. Should have completed a one-year rotatory internship recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI).
3. Should be in possession of a Permanent Dental Registration Certificate.  
Medical Services Eligibility

Training: Most of the post-graduate courses are conducted at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune and various other teaching hospitals of the Armed Forces. The Service also offers opportunities to avail study leave at Government expense for super-specialist courses at reputed civilian institutions in India and abroad.

Indian Navy Sailor Entry

What is Indian Navy Sailor Entry: Indian Navy Sailor Entry as below-

(A). Artificer

Artificer is a Multirole Adventurous Position in the Navy as SAILOR, who have a responsibility to Deal with Technical, Non-technical Tool, Machine, and Equipment. This is the main objective of an Artificer.

Eligibility: Candidate having 60% in 12th with any Science Subject can apply, Age in between 17 to 20 year.

Training: Candidates selected will undergo nine weeks’ Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade at various Naval Training Establishments. Branch/ Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of Service

Some of the Positions in the sailor are same but having some little difference. Their Eligibility and Educational Requirement as follows.

(B). SSR

  1. Candidates should have Qualified in 10+2 examination with Maths & Physics and at least one of these subjects; Chemistry/Biology/Computer science from an Educational board recognized by Central/State Government.
  2. Age should Between 17 to 22 years.
  3. Candidates selected will undergo 22 weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments. Branch/ Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of Service.

(C). Metric Recruit

  1. Some of the candidates hired under metric Recruit as Chef, Steward, and Sanitary Hygienist.
  2. All have equal Educational recruitment that is Metric pass.
  3. After the duty of 15 years, the Candidate will get the Certificate of Gradation level.
  4. Candidates selected will undergo 14 weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments. Branch/ Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of Service.
  5. Age should between 17 to 22 and 10th pass from any State board and central board.

(D). Musician

  • Candidate will be allowed to play the band with Naval musician officers.
  • Candidate should know Play at least one Naval Band Musical Instrument, 10th pass, and should also have actual practical skill on any Western classical or Wind/Percussion Instrument.

Selection Process of Indian Navy

What is the Selection process in Indian Navy:
Some of the vacancies are processed through UPSC, and some of the processes through Direct Entry, INET, and INECT.  And I am going to Classify all as follows.

Indian Navy UPSC Entry

How to join Indian Navy through UPSC Exam:
NDA  and CDS are the entrance exams that are conducted by (UPSC) Union Public Service Commission for Commissioned Officers in the Indian  Navy, Airforce, and Army. Each exam has different criteria of requirement and having different job profiles. These exams conduct twice in a year. For further details, we have to discuss each one by one.

NDA/NA Exam for India Navy

  1. NDA Exam Conducted by UPSC twice in a year for selecting the candidates as a lieutenant in the Indian Navy, Captian in Indian Army, and Flight Lieutenant in the Indian air force.
  2. Candidate should at least 10+2 or Intermediate passed from any state board having 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Math each and physically fit in all aspects, Should be Unmarried.
  3. And having Age Between 16.5 to 19.5 years according to the first day of the month of registration.

Exam Fee- Generally examination fee is 100 rupee which can be submitted online by net banking, Master card, Debit Card, Credit Card, etc. and Offline in SBI by Cash, fee relaxation can be allowed to SC/ST and OBC.

Nature of the Examination-

  • The Exam conducted by UPSC Online in two parts.
  • The first part is written MCQ Test consists of Mathematic of 300 marks and General Ability test of 600 marks so the first part is of 900 marks.
  • Selected candidates go for the further process which is the second part- SSB Test/ Interview of 900 Marks Separately.

CDS Exam for Indian Navy

  1. CDSE (Combined Defense Service Exam ) is conducted twice a year under UPSC and hires graduates for the Commissioned officer in the Navy, Airforce, and Army.
  2. Final year Students of Graduate can also apply for CDSE.
  3. Selected candidates can join the Indian Army, Air force, Navy, And can join permanently and as Short service under PC (Permanent Commission) and SCC (Short service commission) respectively.
  4. Notification can get through Newspaper and Authorize Website.
  5. Candidates should have complete the minimum Requirement criteria, which is Age must between in 19 to 22 years, Must be Graduate from any recognized university, must be Unmarried and Citizen of India.

Exam Free- Generally examination fee is 200 rupee which can be submitted online by net banking, Master card, Debit Card, Credit Card, etc. and Offline in SBI by Cash, fee relaxation can be allowed to SC/ST and OBC Candidate.

Nature of Examination-

  • The Examination is consists of Two Parts First is the written test and the Second is Interview for intelligence and personality test.

NCC Special Entry in Indian Navy

What is NCC special Entry in Indian Navy:

  • Engineering (B.tech/BE) Graduate NCC candidates are hired through UPSC in NCC special entry.
  • Those candidates having NCC Senior Wind  ‘C’ Certificate with at least Grade ‘B’. can apply.
  • No written test is conducted for this entry.
  • The eligible candidates are required to forward their application directly to IHQ MoD (Navy)/ DMPR through DGNCC.
  • The candidates are deputed for the SSB interview.
  • After qualifying SSB these candidates undergo a medical examination and if found fit, are inducted in the Indian Navy on the basis of All India Merit.

Direct Entry (PC for Undergraduate level entry) 10+2 B.tech

What is Direct Entry (10+2 B.tech) entry in Indian Navy:

  • All the 12th pass Science students can join the Indian navy as permanent under this section.
  • Candidate should have 12th pass with 70% in PCM and 50% in English in 10th or 10th standard.

INET-(Indian Navy Entrance Test)

  • INET exam is Conducted by IMQ- Mod (Navy)-DMPR.
  • It is an Entry-level exam in the Indian Navy for Permanent and short terms both.
  • These vacancies open twice in a year, having an online exam and eligibility criteria.
  • After this test Selected candidates will be deputed to SSB the same as other defense exams.
  • According to the SSB score, the merit list will be created.
  • Selected candidates will be inducted in the Indian Navy on the basis of AIR Rank.

SSB Procedure:

SSB is an intelligence test procedure Consist of two Stages. Only those candidates can appear Stage 2 Who clear the Stage 1.

Stage 1- it comprises Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) test and Picture Perception and Description Test (PP&DT), Officers selected on the basis of these two Tests’ ration or Score.

INCET (Indian Navy Civilian Entrance Test)

  • INCET is an entrance examination for Civilian Entry in the Indian Navy for the various no-tech posts as- Tradesman mate (TMM), Chargeman (Mechanic), and Chargeman (Ammunition and Explosive), and for some other vacancies are- Dhobi, Ward Sahayika, Dresser MTS, Laboratory Bearer, Masalchi MTS, Motor Driver, fireman, staff car drivers.
  • These vacancies have different Eligibility Criteria criteria. The exam procedure is the same for TMM, Chargeman both.

Exam Fee– Both Male and female candidates can apply, and the fee required  205 rupees can be submitted through Online, Net banking, etc..

Examination- Mode of Examination is online, all the questions asked are MCQ types. carry respective, marks as follows.
