Translator Selection Process

The Selection for the Gujarat High Court Translator Recruitment will be based on: –

  • Elimination Test (Objective Type – MCQs)
  • Translation Test
  • Viva-voce Test
  • Marks obtained in the Elimination Test will NOT be considered for determining the merits, for preparing the Final Merit List.
  • The Select List & Wait List shall be prepared on the basis of Aggregate Marks obtained by the Candidate in the Translation Test and Viva-voce Test.

Exam Pattern Details

Elimination Test Exam Pattern

  • Total Questions – 100 Questions.
  • Total Marks – 100 Marks.
  • Exam will be OMR Based.
  • Duration of the Elimination Test shall be 02 Hours (120 Minutes).
  • For every wrong answer there will be Negative Marking of 0.33 Marks.
  • Language of the question paper shall be English Only (except the questions in Gujarati Language).
  • Candidates belonging to reserved category, ST/SEBC shall have to secure minimum 45 Marks and all other Candidates shall have to secure minimum 50 Marks in Elimination Test for being called for next stage – Translation Test.

Translation Test Exam Pattern

  • Total Marks – 100 Marks.
  • Duration of the Translation Test shall be 02 Hours 30 Minutes (150 Minutes).
  • It will comprised Translation from Gujarati to English and English to Gujarati language and also Synonyms, Antonyms and Idioms.
  • Candidates shall have to secure minimum 40 Marks in Translation Test for being called for next stage – Viva-voce Test.

Viva-voce Exam Pattern

  • Total Marks – 50 Marks.
  • Suitability of the Candidates will be assessed on the basis of one’s General Knowledge, Personality, Communication Skills, Basic Knowledge of Computer Application and Legal Knowledge.
  • Candidates shall have to secure minimum 40% Marks in the Viva-voce Test.
