What is SSC CGL Exam and its selection process:
- SSC-CGL is not a Name of the Exam, here SSC is Staff Selection Commission, which conducts the Exam (CGL) Combined Graduation Level, that’s why it called SSC-CGL.
- This Exam Conducted by SSC to select the eligible graduate candidate for Governmental organization, Ministry, and Departments once in a year.
- CGL exam includes Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ Government Services selection process.
- CGL exam Notification released every year in the month of September – October, and Pre-exam Conducted in Month of March and April.
- This Exam is Scheduled with mainly 4 tiers, are Tier-1,2,3 and 4

What is the SSC CGL exam Procedure:
SSC CGL exam is an online computer-based test consist mainly of 4 Tiers as-
Tier-I: Computer Based Examination
Tier-II: Computer Based Examination
Tier-III: Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)
Tier-IV: Computer Proficiency Test/ Data Entry Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification.
- Tier-1 is pre-exam is the MCQ Type Exam, which is scheduled in the month of March and April every year and after this, selected candidates will be allowed to attend Tier-2 main exam.
- Tier-2 is the same as Pre Exam (MCQ) type, this is the Main Exam, which is scheduled after the Tier-1.
- Tier-3 is a Descriptive paper (Pen Paper mode) Essay writing exam, that is scheduled after the Tier-2 exam to clarify the English knowledge of the candidate.
- Tier-4 is an essential eligibility test to check the computer knowledge and DATA entry Skill of the Candidate ( if required )

- In Tier-I, there will be negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer.

- In Tier-II, there will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV.
- In Tier-II, Paper-II, Paper-III and Paper IV is according to post, only one of them is applicable.
- Tier-2 is of Total 300 Marks
