About AMU
In 1877 Sir Syed founded the Muhammadan Anglo Oriental College in Aligarh. The college was initially affiliated with the University of Calicut and later got affiliated with the University of Allahabad. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) was established in 1920. The university evolved out of the Muhammadan Anglo Oriental College.
- AMU is spread in 467.6 hectares of area.
- AMU offers 300+ courses in various branches of education.
- AMU of more than 28000 students, 1300+ teachers, and 5600+ non-teaching staff.
- AMU has 13 faculties comprising of 98+ teaching departments, 3 academies, and 15 centers & institutions.
- AMU has 19 halls which comprise 80 hostels within the campus for accommodation purposes of most of the teaching staff and students.
- AMU has opened two new institutions in 2011 at Murshidabad, West Bengal and at Mallapuram, Kerala state.
- At present these new institutions facilitate the study of management and integrated law courses.
- Students from all states of India and foreign countries especially, Africa, West Asia, and Southeast Asia Studied in AMU.
- AMU has also reserved some seats in some courses for students from SAARC and Commonwealth Countries.

AMU Admission Process & Entrance Test

Admission to all courses is open to all Indian nationals by the university. Any individual can apply for admission in the respective course if he/she matches the eligibility criteria.
The admission procedure consists of an Offline/ Online Entrance Test at the centers provided by the university. Each course has different eligibility criteria and entrance test.
The university has also specified the maximum age limit for the candidates seeking admission in AMU. A candidate beyond the prescribed age limit is not eligible for admission in Aligarh Muslim University Course.

AMU Application Form:
- The application form for admission purpose is available on the website www.amucontrollerexams.com
- All the students must fill the application form online and must provide the correct information about the candidate.
- The student should register himself as new user on the website and must provide his correct functional email id. This email id will be used for sending the admission related information to the candidate
- Only single registration is sufficient by each student even if he/she wants to attempt for multiple courses.
- The candidate should login to the admission portal using his/her user name and password.
- The candidate must fill the application form very carefully. The candidate should provide correct details in the application form.
- The candidate must upload the scanned photo, signature and left thumb impression of the candidate.
- The candidate must provide the documents related to any special category, if he/ she want to apply for the respective special category.
- The candidate must upload scanned images of the documents required for the admission.
- The candidate must submit the admission fee through online mode of payment.
- The candidate should print out the filled application form and keep it for future use.
